Your product partners bags have been sent home this week with the youngest and only children in each family.  Please look over the sheet inside the bag to see what items we are currently collecting to benefit our school.  Also, please fill in the sticker on the bag to let us know which child and homeroom you would like your bags sent home with after each collection.  Collection dates are listed on the stickers as well, and can be turned in to any teacher, the office, or the collection bins at either parish.  Please contact Jen List at jeremyjenlist@cox.net with any questions.  Thank you for your support!!!

~Fundraiser Kickoff

We hope your family is off to a great start selling cookie dough and other merchandise for our school fundraiser!  Remember, the fundraiser occurs only once per year and the profits will go towards the purchase of NEW CAFETERIA TABLES!    As an incentive your child is awarded prizes for selling!

You can either collect money from people as they order, or you can collect it upon delivery. However, you will write one check to St James Seton Home and School on October 19th (the date the items are picked up) for your child's entire sales order, which will not be cashed for two weeks.  Additional items will be for sale online at www.aspirefundraising.com.  Use the code A1170953 to access those items.   Sales end Tuesday, September 12th , so please keep selling. ~Spotlight Skill This year we will focus on a “Spotlight Skill” each month based on the Boys Town Life Skills. Many of us take basic social skills for granted because we learned them when we were young and use them every day. Modeling and practicing these skills is important to any child’s future success in school and life.

Learning social skills helps to address behavior and create a healthier school environment. We have chosen a handful of meaningful social skills to teach and reinforce, with a goal to build on those over time. We will talk about the skills in the morning/afternoon announcements, in Guidance classes, and they will also be reinforced in the classroom. Working on these skills at home would also help benefit mastering skills over time.

Helping students become stronger academically is a top priority, but we are also committed to helping them grow socially and emotionally. During the month of September we will focus on Greeting Others. Below are the steps provided to practice this skill:

  1. Look at the person
  2. Use a pleasant voice
  3. Say ‘Hi’ or ‘Hello’

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs. Howard,

Asst. Principal
